Obituary David Allen Hard Rock Hardison, 64, of Newport, died Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Morehead City. Mr. Hardison was born in Arapahoe, NC to Joseph Bryan Hardison and Eula Emory Hardison. He worked as a commercial fisherman for most of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Hardison; son, David Hardison, Jr.; grandchildren, Becca Hill and Matt Hill; brother, Joe Hardison, Jr., of Morehead City; sister, Anne Gillikin of Morehead City; 9 nephews and nieces; 9 great nephews and nieces; 4 great-great nephews. In addition to his parents, his brother, Richard Ricky Hardison, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carteret General Hospital Foundation for the New Cancer Center, P. O. Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
