Obituary Darline Brady, 84, of Newport, NC, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. A memorial service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, New Hope, PA, with Rev. Stuart Spencer presiding. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Morehead City, NC with the associate pastor, the Rev. Jason Villegas officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Ms. Brady was born September 13, 1931, in Johnson City, NY, to Floyd and Isabelle Gentle. Ms. Brady was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Morehead City. She was an airline stewardess with Coastal Airlines for a few years starting in 1953. That is where she met and subsequently married Larry who was the love of her life. After getting married she became a homemaker caring for not only her children but for many others. For 17 years she was a foster parent to 88 children in Pennsylvania. She was a sweet, selfless woman who gave more than she ever took, volunteering with several organizations. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by 4 daughters, Paula Byrd and husband Mike, of Longmont, CO, Christine Brady, of Greenville, NC, Kathleen Brady of Langhorne, PA, and Laura Brady and life mate Andrew Axberg of Washington Crossing, PA ; 2 sons, Mark Brady and wife Deborah, of Levittown, PA and Scott Brady of Croydon, PA; 6 grandchildren, Garrett Brown and wife Sarah of Raleigh, NC, Isabelle Brady of Langhorne, PA, Hannah, Benjamin, Nathan, and Grace Brady all of Levittown, PA. In addition to her parents and her sister, her husband, Lawrence Bernard Brady, precedes her in death. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, First United Methodist Church, 900 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557, Marthas Mission Cupboard, P. O. Box 603, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to a charity of your choice.
