Obituary Clarence Edward Willis, 89, of Newport, died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens, Havelock, with Rev. Jerry Linebarger, Pastor of Open Door Baptist Church, officiating. Clarence was born in Carteret County on February 26, 1929 to Rev. R. T. Willis, Jr., and Blanche Oliver Willis. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, and a life time Mason. He is survived by his son, Randy G. Willis and his wife Debbie of Port St. John, Florida; his step-daughters, Lisa Hyatt of Morehead City and Linda Hyatt of Cove City; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Hyatt Willis and his sister, Sue Danielson. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Shriners' Hospital for Children, c/o Sudan Shriners, 403 E. Front Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
