Clarence “Catfish” Williams, 85, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home.

Catfish devoted 22 years to the United States Marine Corps, where his commitment to duty was unwavering.

Following his distinguished military career, Catfish transitioned to civilian life with equal fervor. He was the proud owner of a successful electrical company and later channeled his sharp acumen into real estate, working as a broker. His expertise also led him to serve as a Military Tech Representative, where he continued to support military operations and personnel with his deep knowledge and experience. Catfish was dedicated and committed to his wife and family with unfailing devotion. 

Catfish will be remembered for his robust spirit, his dedication to his professions, and his enduring commitment to his fellow Marines. His legacy will continue to influence and inspire those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home of Morehead City. A burial will follow with Military Honors at Amariah Garner Cemetery in Newport. The family will receive friends from1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Catfish was survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma “Doady” Deloris Williams of Newport; son, Curtis Wayne Williams of Newport; daughter, Beth Ann Williams of Newport; granddaughter, Jennifer Wilkins of Spring, TX; grandson, Calvin John Wilkins of Anderson, TX; five great grandchildren: Ariana E. Wilkins, Addison R. Wilkins, Morgan R. Wilkins, and Haylin J. Gonzales all of Florida; Kaiden Anthony Van Duyn of Spring, TX; great- great-granddaughter, Myla Lynn Drew of Florida; brother, Don Marion Williams of Bellville, TX; sister, Debbie Schultz of Katy, TX.
