Christopher Bew

Obituary Christopher "Shawn" Bew, 39, of New Bern, died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Carolina East Medical Center, New Bern. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Shawn was born in Richmond, Virginia, on September 22, 1978, to Byron and Penny Rhodes Bew. He attended and graduated from school in Rocky Mount, NC., and moved with his family to New Bern in 2014. Shawn was very personable, and never met a stranger. He was a talented craftsman in the construction business. He is survived by his son, Jay Bew; mother, Penny Rhodes, of New Bern; brother, Jeremy Bew; two aunts, Brenda Rhodes and Margie Snow; three uncles, Allen Rhodes, Joe Rhodes and John Bowes; his step mother, Julie Bew; a half sister, Melissa Bass, and there was a special place in his heart for Mary Jones. Shawn is preceded in death by his father and an uncle, Jasper Rhodes.
