Charlotte Hazlett

Obituary Charlotte Haupt Hazlett, 94, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in New Bern, NC. One of six children, Charlotte was born in Frackville, PA on October 1, 1922, to the late George and Mildred Haupt. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gilbert (Bud) Hazlett and her brother, Charles E. Haupt. Charlotte is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Susan H. Improta, and her husband, Ronald, of New Bern, formerly of West Warwick, RI. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Q. Morin, his wife, Chrisanne, and their daughter, Charlotte, of West Warwick, RI; Amy B. Morin of North Kingstown, RI; and Dina (Improta) Roskin, her husband, David, and their children, Olivia, Mila and Claudia, of Maplewood, NJ. She is also survived by her siblings: Flo Haupt Jones and her late husband, Col. David G. Jones, USMC Ret., of New Bern, G. Roy Haupt of Payson, AZ, Carus Haupt, and his wife, Barbara, of Tenants Harbor, ME, Lee Haupt, and his wife, Judy, of Mount Sidney, VA; sister-in-law, Jaye Haupt Sierer, of Tenants Harbor, ME, and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte enjoyed spending summers in Maine, gathering with her extended family, and had a fervent passion for reading.
