September 16, 1926 — July 20, 2017

Obituary Charles Jefferson "Jeff" Johnson, Jr., 90, of Morehead City, passed away at his home on July 20, 2017. At his request, there will be no service. Jeff was born in Hope Mills, NC to Charles Jefferson and Allie Mae Stevens Johnson on September 16, 1926. He was a life-long aviation enthusiast and long time member of the NC Aero Club. After serving in the US Navy during WW II, he moved to New Bern to open New Bern Dental Laboratory. In New Bern, he met and married the lovely Virginia Boyd, his wife of 68 years. They have 3 children, Karen Hillman (Rob), Jeff, III, (Carla) and John. He was very proud of his childrens accomplishments. He was, also, proud of his two grandsons, David and John. He enjoyed keeping up with his 2 great grand children, Layne, age 3, and Hadley, 3 months, on his iPad. At the time of his death, Jeff was the oldest living Past Master of historic St. Johns Lodge #3, in New Bern. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was always ready to help any of them. In addition to his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his two sisters, Jesse Jean Morse and Cora Hattie Nunnery. The family would like to thank Dr. Alonzo Davis and his staff for their professional support and many kindnesses over the years. Also, we are so grateful for the help of the Carteret Health Care Home Health and Hospice during Jeffs final days. Please consider a memorial in Jeffs name to the Carteret Health Care Home Health and Hospice, P. O. Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
