Charles 'Gus' Ayers Farlow

Obituary Charles Ayers "Gus" Farlow passed away on July 21, 2019, at the age of 84 years. A funeral service is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, July 27th, graveside, at Carteret Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Taylor Mills will officiate. The family will receive friends the evening of Friday, July 26th, from 6-8pm at Brooks Funeral Home. Born in Wildwood , NJ on December 14, 1934. Following a family legacy of service, Gus joined the Coast Guard after graduating from Beaufort High School. Gus had a knack for engine work, working on boat engines, cars and then aircraft at Cherry Point. After 35 years, re retired from Cherry Point, and enjoyed working with his brother-in-law, David McNeill at Eastern Pest Control as well as other friends and family as a fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Doris McNeill Farlow; his four legged companions, Cinders and Crazy Mary; John Michael Farlow (Son) , wife Valerie , and children Maureen and Jacques and grandchildren Kylie and Chloe; Timothy Ayers Farlow (Son) , wife Brenda and children Meg and Billy. Gus is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Ayers Farlow and Elsie Miller Farlow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in his honor to the Shriners Childrens Hospital and The American Cancer Society.
