Charles Everett Brown, Jr

Obituary Charles Brown of Morehead City, NC, passed from this life in early July after a short illness. Originally from Ohio, he grew up in Canada and Pennsylvania. As an IBM Field Engineer and Electronics Buyer he raised his daughters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina. He made his final home in Morehead City where he truly enjoyed life on the Crystal Coast. A veteran of WW II, he attended college in Ohio after being honorable discharged. Mr. Brown, K4VLR, a passionate amateur radio operator since the 1950s, served as a volunteer radio examiner for the ARRL testing new potential amateur radio fans. While a Kentucky resident he became a Kentucky Colonel. He joined the Masons while a resident of Lexington, Kentucky. In his 60 plus years of membership he was very fond of his Masonic friends and associates. Being a Mason was very dear to him. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister in law and a nephew. He is survived by his daughters Nancy Brame (Michael) and Susan Sloan (Harvey), four grandchildren, one great grandson, two nephews and grand nephews and a grandniece. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City on Saturday, July 24th at 11:00 am. Friends are invited to call before the service.
