Cecila Taylor

Cecila Prichard Taylor, a beacon of faith, spirited warmth, and laughter, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, at the age of 64. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord. Cecila was born on April 10, 1959, in Morehead City, to the late Mary Emma Bell and Roy Cecil Prichard.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19 at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Cecila was adored and admired by all for her strength and resilience. “CeCe” was known for being a jokester and could always lighten the room. Most importantly, she feared the Lord and loved to sing His praises. She was a beloved Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

Family was the cornerstone of Cecila’s life. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Christopher (Misti) Taylor of Morehead City, and Kizzie Taylor of Morehead City; her grandchildren, Amanda Fortin, Tiana (Sammy) Teague, Bubba Taylor, Israel Long, Chantay Smith, Shayla (Timmy) Stevens, and Sheron Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Rose Fortin-Puliatti, Brayleigh Teague, Cooper Teague, Taysen Teague, Teagan Teague, and soon to be Nova Stevens; her sisters, Shirley Faye (Taft) Cobbs, Linda Dixon, Joyce Prichard, Patricia Jones, Wanda Felton, Mary Prichard; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Emma Bell and Roy Cecil Prichard; grandmother, Annie Peed; sister, Allison Prichard; brother-in-law, Bobby Felton, and granddaughter Krista “Olivia” Taylor.
