Cathy Bunger

Obituary Cathy McFall Bunger, age 66 of Cape Carteret, NC, died on June 10, 2018 at her home. She was born on August 22, 1951, in Lynchburg, VA, the daughter of Parker Thomas (P.T.) McFall and Erma Taliaferro McFall. Cathy attended James Madison University and graduated from Lynchburg College in 1973 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She earned a Masters Degree in Counseling from Marshall University in 1998, which led her to find her calling as a Play Therapist working with children and adolescents in West Virginia. Her favorite moments in life revolved around her beloved children and her grandson, who called her "Manga." The family pets also held a special place in her heart, most recently her dog Columbo, who kept her company at the foot of her bed. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David, daughter Ann, son Jonathan, his wife Maryam, and grandson Logan. A remembrance gathering will be held in her home, the time and date will be announced once it is confirmed Memorial donations in memory of Cathy may be made to the Duke Cancer Institute (dukecancerinstitute.org/duke-cancer-fund).
