Catherine "Cathy" Noe Hicks

Catherine Noe Hicks, age 69, passed away on September 2, 2024, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, NC. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Carteret Memorial Gardens in Beaufort, NC.

Cathy was born in Beaufort, NC on December 19, 1954. She graduated from East Carteret High School before furthering her education at Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh, NC. After graduating college and getting married, she moved to Garner and then Clayton. Cathy spent every weekend and holiday in Carteret County with family and friends. Her final years were spent in Benson with her family and special caregivers.

Cathy dedicated many years of service to Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. After her retirement she went back to school for horticulture. Growing and arranging flowers became a treasured hobby. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and their dog Chief. Shopping was always a favorite pastime.

Cathy is survived by her daughters, Laura Hicks Clifton (Keith) and Amanda Hicks Russell; grandchildren, Austin (Maddie), Nicholas, Hannah, Aidan, and Landon; her brother, Clifton Noe (Katie); nephew Cory (Brittany). She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta Taylor Noe and Earl McIntosh Noe Jr; her brother, Earl Mac "Buddy" Noe.
