Obituary Carolyn Ballou Mann, 83, of Morehead City, died Monday, June 9, 2014, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael D. Frese officiating. The interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery. She was born in Morehead City on October 19, 1930 to Carroll and Weltha Willis Ballou. Prior to her career as a real estate agent, she was the manager of her fathers restaurant, Carrolls Restaurant, on the Morehead City waterfront. Mrs. Mann was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Mann of Raleigh; sisters, Deanna Bartholomew and husband Fred, of Princeton and Jane Liske of Durham; brother, Capt. Bobby Ballou and wife, Faye, of Morehead City; grandchildren, Ashley Mann and Tyler Mann. In addition to her parents, her son, Donald Mann and brothers, David Ballou and E. C. Ballou, Jr. preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at church one hour prior to the service.
