Obituary 1-888-579-7953 Code: 2002089P Carol Wylie Taylor, 73, of Morehead City, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Carteret General Hospital. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Morehead City, with the Rev. Dr. Nate Leonard and the Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. Mrs. Taylor was born November 17, 1941 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, to the late Isaac Wylie and Mary Millar Wylie. She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, Delaware, and a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelors Degree in Biology in 1964 and a Masters Degree in Education in 1967. She taught at Mount Pleasant High School, Wilmington, Delaware from January, 1965 until December, 1970. Following that, she taught at Bonbeach High School, Bonbeach, Victoria, Australia, from February, 1971 until December, 1973, then Mount Pleasant High School, Wilmington, Delaware, from February, 1973 to June, 1975. Carol served as Administrative Assistant to the Pastor and Director of Education from 1975 until 1978 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Wilmington, Delaware. She additionally taught at West Carteret High School from August, 1978 until September, 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Morehead City, where she was an adult Sunday School teacher, a member of the Sanctuary Choir and volunteer director of the Joy-Makers Choir. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband, William A. Taylor; two sisters, Irene E. Fellows of Wilmington, Delaware and Joyce M. Ferguson and husband, Douglas, of The Woodlands, Texas; two nieces, Meghan Winker and Laura Beth Swain as well as four nephews, Grant Taylor, Seth Meney, Hunter Fellows, and Keith Piner. The family will receive friends in the First Baptist Church parlor from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Knitting Group or Joy-Makers Choir, 810 Bridges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to a charity of ones choice.
