Carol Ann Blewett

Obituary Carol Ann Blewett of Beaufort, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Carol Ann was born in the Bronx, New York on June 21, 1941 to Kenneth and Anna Ackerman. She grew up in Park Chester NY and attended St. Clairs school of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. Carol Ann met and married the love of her life, Robert, and the two raised their three children in Holbrook, New York on Long Island. Carol Ann continued her career as a nurse both in the hospital setting, private duty and eventually retiring as a Nursing Director of a Home Health Care Agency. Carol Ann retired with her husband to Beaufort, NC, and have called this area home for the past 18 years. Carol Ann was a member of the ladys guild, needlers club, the Morehead City Country Club, St. Egbert Catholic Church and held a position on the board of the Home Extension. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, time spent with her second family in Aruba and relaxing by the beach. Carol Ann was lovingly known as Grandma, MiMa and Mems. She always had a smile, gentle word and much patience for anyone who knew her. Carol Ann is survived by her husband Robert, Sons Timothy (Kathy) of Holbrook, long Island, and Robert of Lombard, Illinois and a daughter Amy Romano (Darren) of Pittsburgh, Pa, Her seven grandchildren Amanda, Christopher, Stephen, Owen, Landyn, Sarah and Rylan. As well as her brother Kenneth (Kate) of Florida and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 5, 2017, at St. Egbert Catholic Church of Morehead City, with the Rev. Thomas R. Davis officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Prior to the Mass, the family will receive friends and family from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the Agape Room at St Egbert Catholic Church. Carol Ann is preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent in Carol Anns memory to the SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals, 123 Old Mason Farm Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
