Obituary Bonzell Lewis, Jr., 82, of Beaufort, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, at his home. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, at Ann Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Goodwin officiating. The interment with military honors will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens. He was born November 3, 1933 in Beaufort to Bonzell and Thelma Norris Lewis. He served in the United States Navy and retired from civil service as a Manager of Aircraft Planning. Mr. Lewis was a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church and VFW Post 2401, Beaufort. He is survived by his daughter, Gay Lewis Rouse and husband, Jackie, of Newport and son, Keith Lewis, Sr. of Beaufort; brother, Kenny Lewis and wife, Patti, of Beaufort; 4 grandchildren, Louann Lewis Barnes, Nick Lewis, Lacey Wade, Keith Lewis, Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren, Brittney, Hailey, Landon, Maddux, Katelyn, and Christian. In addition to his parents, his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Dickinson Lewis, preceded him in death.
