Beverly Bobby Godette

June 11, 1946 — May 22, 2024

Beverly “Bobby” Godette was born June 11, 1946 in Havelock, North Carolina to the late Jefferson “Buh Charlie” and Ollie Godette. On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, he departed this life in the comfort of his home at the age of 77.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday May 30, 2024, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home, with the entombment to follow at Pine Top Cemetery in Havelock.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday May 29, 2024, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City.

He graduated from Queen Street High School in Beaufort, N.C. Shortly after graduating he began his career of civil service at MCAS Cherry Point in Havelock, N.C, for fifty-six years. While working on base was his regular job he had plenty more. He perfected his craft of gardening/farming, catering, and he eventually began his own business. He contributed so much to the community and slowly but surely his business became a success. Providing tents/tables and chairs for numerous events and parties around the community. Aside from working he also loved cars, going to the drag strip, wrestling, grilling out and playing checkers.

He was unapologetically himself – loving, strong willed and extremely helpful and generous. Bobby was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He prided himself in the legacy he created. He loved to laugh and joke. Laughter was his love language, as well as acts of service which is how he showed his loved ones he cared.

He was strong, resilient, kindhearted, selfless, and full of wisdom. He surrounded himself with his loved ones. He dedicated his life to helping raise all his grandchildren and played a role in the lives of many of the kids in the family.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Evon Godette; children, Francene Godette, Tamika Godette and Robin Nolon; grandchildren, KoraShawna Godette, KeShawn Godette, Skylar Nolon, great grandchildren, Kavani Beverly Williams and Kiyanni Elatrese Williams; sisters, Ora Campbell, Lavine (Ronald), Ester Godette, and Carolyn Godette; brothers, Obsain Godette, Ozell (Ethel) Godette, Wilbert (Lenora) Godette; an aunt, Eula Frazier; uncles, Floyd Godette and Alfonzo Godette; as well as a host of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
