Betsy Davis Mcgibbon

Betsy Davis McGibbon, 70, of Pine Knoll Shores passed away peacefully on her 40th wedding anniversary December 31, 2023 at Carteret Health Care. Betsy was born on February 22, 2053, in New Bern, North Carolina, to the late Robert and Betsy Davis.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Kenny McGibbon, whose companionship and support were the cornerstones of her life. She is also survived by her aunt, Becky S. Hedrick of Athens, GA.

Professionally, Betsy dedicated two decades of her life to the Naval Air Rework Facility (NARF) at Cherry Point, where she began as an apprentice and rose through the ranks to retire as a respected production assistant. Her colleagues revered her not only for her work ethic and dedication, but also for her ability to bring warmth and humor to any situation.

Betsy's love for life extended well beyond her professional endeavors. She was an active member of the Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club, where she served numerous years as an officer. She had a green thumb and vast knowledge of plants. She found joy in the camaraderie and laughter shared during BUNCO with her close circle of friends. Betsy was known throughout the community of Pine Knoll Shores for the many estate and yard sales she managed for over 10 years. Furthermore, Betsy's virtual farming skills were unmatched in the online community of Farm Town, where she cultivated not just crops, but lasting friendships as well.

As we bid farewell to Betsy Davis McGibbon, we celebrate the time we were blessed to share with her. Though her passing, due to an infection, has left a void that cannot be filled, the memories of her laughter, her spunk, and firecracker personality will forever be etched in the hearts of her husband, aunt, extended family, friends, and colleagues.

In honor of Betsy's memory, let us reflect on her spirit that will continue to bloom in the gardens she tended, in the games she played, and in the countless lives she touched with her extraordinary heart.

Rest in peace, dear Betsy and fly with the angels. You will be deeply missed.
