Obituary Bessie Jones Carr, 86, of Morehead City, NC died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Carteret Health Care. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The interment will follow at Memory Hill Gardens, Tuscaloosa. She was born July 30, 1930 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to Edgar and Hester Montgomery Jones. She is survived by her son, James Randall Carr and wife Penny of Morehead City, NC; sisters, Eddie Mae Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL and Betty Spence of Birmingham, AL; brother, Paul Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; granddaughters, Samantha Lynn Carr and Britney Marie Carr. In addition to her parents, her husband, John Hurtis Carr, Jr.; sister, Louise Harrold and brothers; J.C. Jones and Leon Jones preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home from 1:00 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Free Will Baptist Childrens Home, 86 Academy Drive, Eldridge, AL 35554.
