Obituary Barney Leon Culp, 85, of Morehead City, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Carteret General Hospital, Morehead City. All services will be private. Mr. Culp was born October 7, 1928, in Edgemoor, SC to Elbert Lewis and Elizabeth Garrison Culp. He attended schools in Edgemoor and served his country in the U. S. Air Force during 1947 and 1948. He was a retired crop duster. He is survived by his son, Barney Leon Culp, Jr., of Emerald Isle; 3 brothers, Elbert Culp of Salisbury, Robert Culp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Allen Culp of Chester, SC; 5 sisters, Nell Roddey of Blackstock, SC, Aileen Spencer and Margaret Kennedy both of Chester, SC, Helen Bagley of Cummins, GA and Alice Culp of Columbia, SC. In addition to his parents, a daughter, Vickie Diane Gilbert and his sister, Thelma Andrews preceded him in death. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of Morehead City.
