Obituary Barbara Moore Stancil Flynt, 78, died suddenly February 12, 2015. She lived in Pine Knoll Shores, fulfilling a lifetime dream of living at the beach. She is survived by her mother, Ann Moore Morton, her husband, Bruce C. Flynt, her children, Beth Cribbins (Ryan), Susan Duncan, Dan Stancil,Jr. (Eva), her beloved grandchildren Lee Miller (Emily), Mary Beth Miller, Libby Stancil and Ann Daniel Stancil, her siblings J. Robert Moore, III, (Barbara), Steve Moore ( Karen), Nancy Berry (Dick) and the joy of her life, Pixie. She leaves behind treasured friends, Bob & Barbara Miner. She was predeceased by her father, James R. Moore, Jr. and her son-in-law, Todd Duncan. Barbara was born in Rocky Mount, NC. She raised her family in Raleigh while pursuing her career with Triangle J, Council of Governments. She was a woman of strength and talent; raising three rowdy kids, entertaining friends and family, growing flowers, decorating her yard, attending countless grandchildren functions (followed by her famous green beans), volunteering many hours to the Fire Dept. Auxillary and to various garden clubs, and she played a wicked hand of bridge. She wore a lot of hats in life, her favorite, that of Grandma Sunshine. Barbara requested there be no funeral service. In order to honor her life there will be a gathering for family and friends held at Pine Knoll Shores Fire Dept., 314 Salter Path Road, Pine Knoll Shores on Sunday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Knoll Shores Fire Auxillary, 314 Salter Path Road, Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512.
