Obituary 1-888-579-7953 Code: 2002089P Asa Bryant Buck, Jr., 88, of Beaufort, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home. A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Carteret Memorial Gardens, Beaufort. He was born in Morehead City on July 1, 1927 to Asa Bryant Buck and Curly Rosa Buck. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1945 - 1946. He worked at the Naval Air Rework Facility for 25 years and retired as an Electronics Quality Control Specialist, a position he held for 20 years. He was a member and Past Master of Franklin Lodge No. 109 A.F. & A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star Beaufort Chapter No. 128, a member of York Rite, Sudan Shrine Temple and Past President of the Carteret County Shrine Club, Past President of East Carteret Scottish Rite Club, was a K.C.C.H. Scottish Rite Mason where he served as Knights Commander for the Court of Honor. He was a Masonic Coach for more than 30 years. He loved to camp and shrimp on Shackleford Banks and had been known to catch a Speckled Trout. His favorite saying was, "Good food, good music, good drink and good friends to share it with". He is survived by his daughter Sandra Buck Kirkland and husband Richard of Rose Hill, NC and son, Asa Ray Buck of Beaufort; grandchildren, Brant Beaman and wife Felicia of Wallace, Rebecca Lawrence and husband Greg of Rose Hill, Asa Buck, III and wife Katina of Beaufort, Jennifer Smith of Morehead City and Kelly Buck of Beaufort; 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, his wife, Ethel Rae Dudley Buck and son, Paul Dudley Buck, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin Lodge No. 109 Building Fund, 104 Professional Park Drive, Beaufort, NC 28516.
