Antionette Brown, 75, of Morehead City passed away on Monday, April 16, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.


A funeral service will be held 1pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. There will be a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City.


Antoinette Bell Brown, the youngest of three children, was born on May 16, 1948 to the late Oscar Bell and Maggie Bell in Morehead City, North Carolina. She Quietly passed away on April 16, 2024 at Carteret Health Care, Morehead City, North Carolina. She graduated from W. S. King School in 1966. Antoinette Bell Brown Accepted Christ, was baptized and united with St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Morehead City, North Carolina. She graduated from W. S. King School in 1966. Antoinette was a member of the young adult choir, later changed to the gospel choir. She also served on the usher board, and attended church until her health started failing. Antoinette would attend if she had a good day, and she kept up with the services through Facebook.


She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. During her sickness, she never lost faith in God. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7.


Antoinette leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, of 29 years, Tyree Brown; a step-son, Tyree Johnson of New Bern; devoted sister, Claudia Bell of Morehead City, NC; two special nieces, Felicia Jones (William) of Raleigh, NC, Katrina Montaque of Morehead City, NC; great niece, Jelisa Irving (Travis); two great nephews, Willie J. Montaque and Ronald Montford; one great-great nephew, Marvion Smith; and a host of other cousins and friends. Lifelong friends of the family, Ophelia Chambers and Wynona Dowell.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Maggie Bell; one sister, Catherine Bell Hester.
