Anne Hawkins

Obituary Anne Swain Hawkins, 74, of Beaufort, died Monday, January 5, 2015, at Carteret General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church, Beaufort, at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 9, with the Rev. Richard Patterson and the Rev. David Wade officiating. She was born in Morehead City on September 5, 1940 to William Leon Swain and Mary Alice Wolfe Swain. She was a homemaker, lifelong member of Ann Street United Methodist Church, Red Cross volunteer, and substitute teacher for the Carteret County School System. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Hawkins Gooding of Beaufort and Barbara Hawkins Guthrie of Winterville; 5 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carteret County Public Library, 1702 Live Oak Street, Suite 100, Beaufort, NC 25816.
