Obituary Amanda Rae The Badger Hiatt, 45, of Winston Salem, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at Crystal Coast Hospice House, Newport. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at the pavilion in Grayden Paul Park in front of the town hall in Beaufort with Pastor Paul Loftin officiating. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Home Moravian Church, 529 S. Church Street, Winston Salem, with Pastor Jinny Tobiason officiating. Burial will follow the service in Salem Moravian Graveyard (Gods Acre). Amanda was born in Winston Salem on February 23, 1969 to Edsel Ray and Gail Blackburn Hiatt. She graduated from UNC- Greensboro, and was employed at the Winston Salem Journal as a Copy Editor. She was a member of Home Moravian Church. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Edsel Ray and Leona Hiatt of Bath; a sister, Alexandra Shreve, and her husband, Donald, of Cape Carteret and her niece, Lauren Shreve Swain, and her husband, Bradley, of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gail Blackburn Hiatt. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to The Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570 Memorial Servce 5:00 p.m. ,Sunday, September 21, 2014 Pavilion in front of Beaufort Town Hall 701 Front Street Beaufort, NC 28516 Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. ,Saturday, September 27, 2014 Home Moravian Church 529 S.
