Alfred Eugene Bell

Obituary Alfred Eugene Bell, 88, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center surrounded by his family. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 3:00pm at Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church. A gathering will be held at the church following the service. Alfred was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and Coast Guard Reserve who served his country for over 40 years, of which included the Korean War Conflict. For over 40 years, he was a dedicated and faithful employee of Russells Glass Shop and was a master of his craft. Alfred had a servants heart, in which gave to Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church as a dedicated member. He also enjoyed his time as a member of the Shriners and Masonic Ocean Lodge. Alfred was known by his family as a loving uncle, son, and "Pop-Pop". He was the youngest of four, hardworking brothers, who was dedicated to supporting and caring for his mother and grandmother until their passing. Alfred is survived by his nieces and nephews, Stephen Bell and wife Kathy of Williston, FL, Dr. Michael Bell and wife Dr. Jennifer Bell of Morehead City, Charles Kevin Bell and wife Charlene of Newport, Kimberly Wichtl (Deceased) and husband Robert of Newport, and Ashley Bell of Newport; 14 grand-nieces and nephews; and 8 great-grand-nieces and nephews; as well as many loving friends. He will be sorely missed by his breakfast buddies at Hardees. Three brothers precede him in death, William Creed of Havelock, Harry S. Bell Jr. of Morehead City, and Clarence A. Bell of Morehead City; as well as his mother, Lillian R. Bell.
