Obituary Ryan James Grady, 40, of Washington, NC, died in his home on November 6, 2015. Born December 27, 1974, in Cherry Point, Havelock, NC, Ryan was the second of three sons of Richard Edward Grady and Rosa Maria Azar Huguet Trapp. After attending West Carteret High School, Ryan lived for a time in Mabelville, AR near his brothers and mother, but eventually returned to the East Coast to make his home on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. He is much loved by his family and friends, and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his parents and both brothers, Richard E. Grady, Jr. of Malvern, AR and US Army SFC Vittorio T. Grady (Janeigh), of Antwerp, NY. Also nine nephews and nieces, many aunts and uncles, cousins and both grandmothers. Ryan also leaves behind many devoted friends, including his girlfriend, Hannah Turner of Nashville, N. C., neighbors, Shawn and Dana Wayne of Washington NC, Lisa and Boo Seavers and Melisa Gleason of New Bern NC, as well as his much loved pitbull, Ariel. Ryan was an intelligent, kind, compassionate and charismatic man who lit up the room whenever he walked in. He was an excellent cook, and loved to build things. He could do anything he set his mind to. He was devoted to his friends, loved animals, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach. Ryan secretly struggled with drug abuse for much of his adult life. It strained relationships with those who loved him the most, and who wanted to help him. Addiction finally killed Ryan, and his untimely death is a reminder of the unseen battles being fought all over our nation today.
