Donna Guthrie Hilbert

Obituary Donna Guthrie Hilbert, 77 years old of Morehead City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Donna was born January 26, 1946, in Morehead City to the late Sam and Peggy Guthrie. She attended East Carolina Teaching College and then returned to Morehead City where she was a teacher in Carteret County up until retirement. Ms. Donna is known fondly for her love of teaching and children. Up until her passing she kept in touch with former teaching staff, many students and her dear friends. She dedicated her life to her daughter, Michelle, son-in-law Trey and her beloved granddaughters as well as all her nieces, nephews and their children. They all were the light of her life. Many laughs, hugs and much love were shared over the years. Donna is survived by her daughter Michelle Siner and husband Trey of Concord; two grandchildren, McKenzie Tozier and husband Jacob and Bailey Siner all of Concord; brother Sammy Guthrie Jr. and wife Paden of Morehead City; sister Connie Daniels of Atlantic Beach; two nieces Tania Byrne and husband Eric, Tiffany Sutton; two nephews Sammy Guthrie III and fianc Kerri, Cameron Guthrie and wife Brooke, as well as many more wonderful great nieces and nephews, and her devoted companion William Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Peggy Guthrie, and her beloved husband Alan Hilbert. Her memorial service will take place at First Methodist Church of Morehead City on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 am. with Pastor Powell Osteen officiating. The family will receive guests in the atrium of the church from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff in the critical care unit at Carteret General Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
