Denise 'Dee' Bell

Obituary Denise Yvette Clodfelter Bell, 61, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at her home. The family is planning a Celebration of Life event in her honor. The date and location will be announced later. In April 2022 Dee Bell was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). After this unimaginable diagnosis she chose to spend her days at home, close to family. Dee fought hard to stay with her family, but she ultimately lost her battle with ALS on September 17th, 2023. Dee passed at her home in her sleep, in the comfort of her bed with husband David and daughter Katy nearby. Denise Yvette Clodfelter was born February 8th, 1962, to parents Joan Martin and CD Clodfelter. Dee was preceded in death by both parents shortly prior to her diagnosis of ALS. Dee Bell is survived by husband and best friend, David Bell; daughter, Katy (son-in-law Shelton) and granddaughter Evey; sister, Cenda Clodfelter; nieces and nephews, Jessie Armstrong, Chris Simpson, and Emily Gilmore; along with six great-nieces and nephews. Dee was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a people person and people loved her kind personality and warm-hearted sincerity. She enjoyed boating, biking, gardening and time with her family. Her hobbies included sewing and making cool things. A natural beauty and photographer's dream that needed no artificial trappings to make her so. Gone way too soon and with so many that cared for her, she will be greatly missed.
