Obituary Carolina "Carol" Davis Willis died on May 8, 2018 at Carteret Health Care after a lengthy battle with leukemia and other medical issues. She was born in Providence, RI on August 27, 1933 to the late Paul Arendell Davis and Beatrice Selwood Davis. She attended school in RI through the 11th grade and graduated from Smyrna, NC High School in 1951. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church at 1:00pm on June 7, 2018. The family will receive friends in the Parish House following the service. Interment will be private. Carol married Ralph B. Willis (formerly of Williston, NC; then a member of the U.S. Army) in December, 1951. They lived in SC, GA, and AL for the duration of the Korean War and settled in Norfolk, VA after his discharge. Ralphs employment took them to NJ in 1956, where they lived until his retirement in 1989. Carol was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and served on the staff at Beaufort Historical Association for several years, giving guided tours and narrating the bus tour. Her favorite "fun" things were playing bridge, reading, and boating. She was also a gourmet cook in earlier years. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, of 67 years; son David W. Willis, of Morehead City; daughters Cheryl A. Willis of Newport, and Janet L. Willis of New Bern; sister Kay D. Rofino of MA; brothers Donald Davis of TX, and Falkon Davis of NJ; granddaughter Eileen L. Sloan, and husband, Jon; great-grandchildren James R. and Emma M. Sloan of High Point, NC; and cousin Dot Covert and husband Jon of Newport.
